John Woodhouse.
John Woodhouse developed a passion for photography at a young age, having received a Pentax SLR camera for his 12th birthday. John’s artistic talent was inherited from his Mother, Joy Mennie, a highly respected South African artist. John’s happiest hours were spent photographing the dramatic beauty of the African wildlife and landscapes.
John currently resides in Australia and spends his time creating photographic art pieces. Past exhibitions, Shape in Colour, Melange, African Collection and Journey to the PPY, held at the Orangery Gallery were well received. John’s works are now sold through his website johnwoodhouseart.com. A number of pieces from each collection have sold out the entire edition.
Currently, John’s focus is on producing works that are mixed media, where he paints on canvas with acrylic and then blends the work with a digital image to create a finished piece that is printed on fine art paper and canvas.
John is a Master Photographer and an accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography as well as the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography. He was the West Australian Professional Photographer of the year 2015.
